Excellent! Just in time for my birthday.

Can't wait to get a hold of this. It is hoped that this will wash the bad taste of Song Remains the Same out of the mouths of Zeppelin fans (even though I liked it, trippy Celtic crap and all). Two discs of forgotten concert footage taken from their concerts at MSG as well as select clips from the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney concerts. It's got some pre-1973 clips as well which I'm anxious to see. My roommate at bible college told me that he saw every Zeppelin concert in America (well, in his city at least) and the stuff pre-1975 was the best. Being a fetus at that time, I guess I'll have to take his word for it.

Looks like they'll also release the CD's of the Los Angeles and Long Beach concerts from 1972 on the same day. Looks like I'll be a busy little bee on Tuesday.

Up Above the Daily Hum

I suppose I should update you on the job search. I didn't get the position that I interviewed for a few weeks back. No biggie, I'm at peace. Apparently it came down to me and another gal out of a field of 45 applicants. Small consolation I know, but still it was something that made me smile. The lady who beat me out both had experience in loan underwriting and spoke Spanish as well. The guy who interviewed me told me that if a position should open up in the future that it would be mine. So we'll see what can be made of that in the near future.

Meanwhile it's like Night of the Living Dead in my group right now. Everybody's walking around in a haze stemming from the impending displacement. Yesterday we had a supervisor from the phone bank come down and talk to us about our new (old) positions, which now include sales referrals. Everytime sales was mentioned, everyone in the room (save for me) looked like they were dealing with a bout of the stomach flu. I personally don't care about sales. I don't necessarily like it, but I'm comfortable with it and good at selling. Strange how that works, usually we stink at that which we're indifferent to, but anyway...

Everyone at work tells me that I should move to the branch and sell; and I'm starting to agree with them. I'll make a lot more selling in the branch than I will in the Phone Bank. Until I get my degree, it looks like it the sales road for me, but customer service is where my heart is. I dunno...pray that God will lead me into making the right decisions according to my gifts

Through a glass darkly...

He's writhing on the floor now, singing not so softly to himself, playing with the shoe sizer which, in his opinion, bears an uncanny resemblance to a space cruiser.

You turn around to grimace, point a threatening gesture and ask him to stop. Muddled thoughts brought about by embarassment fill your head as the tailors glare disdainfully, but not so much as to catch your attention. They are unsuccessful.

"He's just having fun, quit staring!" you want to shout, but instead you wince helplessly as he shrieks with excitement at the dopplegangers that appear in the four way mirror. He enthusiastically pursues the vain task of counting each and every gap toothed smile looking back at him, mirrors reflecting image upon image, before and behind. He places both hands on the glass and you follow with a sharp rebuke. No hands on the glass, they will be upset.

"Grow up...Be a big boy" you snap, cheeks burning at the rage of disobedience. Thankfully you hear the tailors call out next, and without blinking you grab the hand of the tiny dissident and pull him into the care of the shopkeepers.

To his delight they call out the numbers as they measure, asking what each and every one of them means. Patiently the old man grins and answers every question. Soon they pull jackets off the rack and he dutifully tries each one on until the perfect fit.

He turns to you and smiles. Your exasperation melts into longing and you quietly eat your words. The tuxedo jacket has magic in it; no longer is he six years old but sixteen. Grown up. Graduating from school. Leaving the house. Getting a job. Starting a family.

You start to wonder, as if wondering can help, what else have you missed? What else have you glossed over in your hypocritical quest for perfection.

And you repent...not for the last time....not by a longshot. But you repent. You walk over to him, attempt an awkward hug and he beams at you. That is all you require at this moment, the love of your Father and your son. Nothing is sweeter.

IT WAS AWWWWWWWWWWESOME!!!!!

The Marix: Reloaded did not disappoint. The fight between the Agent Smiths and Neo was quite possibly the greatest fight scene I've seen in awhile. The roller-coaster swoop shots left me breathless. The car chase/fight on top of the truck was almost too much for my poor brain to take. As the end credits rolled I was exhausted (It was 12:30 AM after all), but the trailer for Revolutions got my blood pumping all over again...can't wait for November.

The paganesque dance/sex scene was horrible though. It was too long, completely unnecessary and it interrupted the flow of the story. I could just see the writers sitting around thinking to themselves "How can we get some boobies into this picture, hmmm". Don't get me wrong, I don't normally get my undies in a bunch about nudity, it just felt gratuitous that's all.

Once the first 1/2 hour passed, it was all good though. Can't wait to see it again.

As with any good sequel, it left me with some questions...let's talk about it in the comments to avoid spoilers.
