Arrrgh! I so wish I could go to this. But I don't have the $1 grand it'll take to go.
Alas, the tapes will have to do.

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor"?
Well, this isn't surprising at all.
"One in 10 young Americans could not locate his own country on a blank map of the world, a survey of geographic literacy shows. Only 13 percent could find Iraq. "Someone once said that war is God's way of teaching geography, but apparently today neither war nor the threat of war can adequately teach geography," John Fahey, president of the National Geographic Society, said Wednesday."
Heh, I dig that quote by Fahey.
With this information its no wonder why the populus in general is either gung-ho or apathetic about whacking Iraq. When a country and a people become just another another nameless, faceless entity, it becomes easy to demonize them. Listen, I'm no fan of Hussein. The man seems quite mad and thirsty for power. But does that justify dropping bombs on his country in order to overthrow him? I dont believe so.

Well, it looks like my employers are sending me to diversity training. No, not for anything I said, it seems to be mandatory for everyone. Great, just wonderful. Eight hours of pep talks filled with pseudo-witty moralisms, trust falls, and group hugs capped off by everyone holding hands singing "We Are the World".
Can you feel my enthusiasm?
I wonder how long it will be until I break down and blurt out that its all a load of crap and the only true way for men to be reconciled is for them to first be reconciled to God through Christ.
Heh, I may not work here much longer.

RC Jr. going Credenda on us
"Here is the tenderness of God, that He would hear our prayers to destroy our enemies. If we but believed in this God, the God of the Bible, then we would not be a people who fear the world. If we believed in this biblical God, maybe we would again be biblical men and women, both exhibiting the strength we are called to, both seeking comfort not in words of peace but in the strength of our Lord"
Good stuff...read the rest.

Well another cosmological event has come and gone and once more I have missed it.
But really can you blame me? 2:30 in the morning? The only things up at that hour are car thieves and cats.
Still it would of been nice to wake up and make some hot cocoa for Josh and I, go outside and watch God's handiwork for an 1/2 hour or so. I can't let opportunities with my son like that pass by.
Ah well...perhaps next year eh?

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

And Now Its Time to Play...NAME THAT THEOLOGIAN!!
Who said the following quote:
"We assert that the whole guilt of sin is taken away in baptism, so that the remains of sin still existing are not imputed. That this may be more clear, let my readers call to mind that there is a twofold grace in baptism, for therein both remission of sins and regeneration are offered to us. We teach that full remission is made, but that regeneration is only begun and goes on making progress during the whole of life. Accordingly, sin truly remains in us, and is not instantly in one day extinguished by baptism, but as the guilt is effaced it is null in regard to imputation. Nothing is plainer than this doctrine."
Be careful...it's not who you think.
Thanks to garver for the link.

Two things that ticked me off this morning.
Man I hate starting the day angry, I should really stop reading the newspaper (websites).
1. I hope this Homeland Security bill gets shot down. Of course the proponents of the bill (Republicans) found neat little ways to protect their buddies in pharmaceuticals from lawsuits by families of people affected from the side effects of vaccines that they manufacture (despite what Tom Ridge says to the contrary). Not only that but it also protects airport security companies from liability lawsuits as well.
For some reason, people don't understand that this kind of "protection" shields companies from accountability and therefore decreases both safety and productivity. Who's going to hold their feet to the fire should they screw up? Government and it's centrilized bureaucracy? Come on now, seriously. The only way for companies to be held accountable for these standards is for the public to hit 'em where it hurts, in the bank account.
2. Once again the government harasses its citizens in order to control them. Loretta Nall has had her kids removed from her care and interrogated, her house subject to surveillance then finally broken into and rearranged by the authorities when she wasn't home, her private property was confiscated, she has been put in jail and held for several hours. Now what did she do to deserve this?
She started a political party that advocated the legalization of marijuana. That's it. What did the police find? One marijuana stem, three seeds, which they claim to have found in an envelope on Loretta's printer, and a package of cigarette papers. Ridiculous.
Now I know you're thinking, either: a) typical libertarian theonomist cries out against legislation that the Law of God is silent on; OR b) Dude must be a pothead if he's crying out against anti-drug laws. Well, yes on A and no on B. So get over it and read Joel Miller's excellent articles, "After The Drug War", parts one and two.
